It’s test-prep season … so I’m hammerin’ FRQ 2 over the next couple of weeks with a Sweet Sixteen short-story March Madness.
In order to demonstrate for students and teachers how to piece together the entire essay from start to finish, I selected The Yellow Wallpaper to model the process.
Given that I am writing about this piece, my students needed to select from the remaining 15 short-stories.
This exercise served us very well. I’m confident that the FRQ 2 writing process has been thoroughly demystified for my students and that they feel confident heading into the remaining days before the exam.
If your students are still struggling to craft this essay, try equipping them with my heuristics – they are very accessible and do a great job in terms of unraveling how to execute this compositional mode.
