Description
In AP circles, many teachers have thrown in the proverbial towel on teaching specifically to the sophistication point: that elusive unicorn that seems truly arbitrary and willy-nilly.
But I am a pie-in-the-sky optimist and think that one wrinkle to achieving those ends comes in the form of explicitly teaching students to pattern their sentences in the hopes of achieving better voice, rhythm, flow.
What I have done is create an Etch-A-Sketch exercise (I model each pattern five times … students in turn bust out the pattern five times while following my lead).
I broke this down into a series of four videos to keep things bite size.
Your download includes the slides for Patterns 16 – 20.
You can purchase the other slides in my store as well.
